Job description
As part of our social responsibility initiatives, the NNR provides opportunities to unemployed graduates to receive workplace skills and experience.
Minimum requirements
- NQF level 6 in Analytical Chemistry/Chemistry/Applied Radiation Science
- No work experience, graduate in search of internship to gain experience
- Basic knowledge of radioactivity and radioactivity measurements is advantageous
- Computer literacy and proficiency in MS office
Skills Development and Training focus areas
- Implementation on sample administration procedure which involves sample receipt, storage and processing.
- Receive relevant training on the various analytical techniques and use of instruments.
- Preparation procedures for various sample matrices.
- Laboratory analysis of samples using Gamma Spectroscopy and Alpha Spectroscopy techniques.
- Training on the administration of portable instruments.
- Training the implementation of the Quality Assurance program.
- Training on the calibration of various instruments.
- Participate in all the above activities on a regular basis including assistance with the maintenance of all the laboratory infrastructure.
